Home of the World Famous Betsy the Lobster

The first thing people notice about Rain Barrel Village is Betsy the Lobster—the 30-foot-tall, 40-foot-long sculpture that stands at the entrance of the property. A cherished must-see landmark, Betsy is a Florida Keys Spiny Lobster and symbol of Florida Keys wildlife that draws visitors for an unforgettable photo-op just off the Overseas Highway.

Believed to be the World's Largest Lobster, Betsy is among the most photographed landmarks in the Florida Keys, second only to the Southernmost Point Buoy in Key West.

Some of Our Favorite Customer Reviews —

When traveling through the Keys you can’t miss The Rain Barrel Village. It may actually be a law that you have to stop and take a mandatory tourist picture in front of it [Betsy the Lobster]. Once you have posted the picture to social media so everyone knows you are hanging out in paradise, it’s time to do some shopping.

I love everything about the Rain Barrel Village. It is quirky and artsy and local. It’s a place you can never imagine, but when you are there, you see how pretty cool and different it actually is. I love it! Stop by on the way to Key West or the way back from Key West!

This was a wonderful place to look for touristy tchotchkes and artisan crafts. You could spend hours poking around in all the nooks in crannies. Don’t miss it!
